We're pleased to announce that we will be representing Communion Artists Bear's Den, Gabriel and the Hounds, Joe Banfi, Matthew and the Atlas (Communion Record's first ever signing!), Pale Seas, Pete Roe, Story Books, Three Blind Wolves, & Treetop Flyers with more artists to join the community in the future.
Communion was born in a West London basement bar in 2006, with the help of Ben Lovett (Mumford and Sons), Kevin Jones (Bear's Den) and producer Ian Grimble. Communion quickly grew into a flourishing community of musicians and fans alike, providing an independent platform for the freshest young artists in London's music circuit and beyond. Ben Howard and Michael Kiwanuka are long-time veterans of Communion's live shows, as well as recording artists with the label.
Communion Records was later founded in 2009 with the intent of promoting a close working family of artists who could develop at their own pace. Many of their releases involve Ben, Kevin and Ian in addition to other Communion artists to create the community vibe. Communion continues to prove its reputation as a tastemaker in the music industry also representing Gotye, Daughter and Foy Vance.
We're so excited to join forces with the Communion team, and you can learn more about Communion here!
This week's episode of The Vampire Diaries will feature music from no less than four Secret Road artists! You can catch the episode tonight at 8/7c on The CW, where you will hear the following tracks:
Hunter Hunted "Keep Together"
Luke Sital-Singh "Bottled Up Tight"
The Cold & Lovely "Paper & Gun"
Josh Ritter "Lights"
24-year-old Luke was born in the South West London town of New Malden, birthplace of folk legend John Martyn. The youngest of 3 brothers, Luke's parents encouraged their sons to pick up musical instruments from an early age. Luke started on the violin at age 11, but soon picked up his brother's guitar and has never looked back.
Citing Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Josh Ritter and Damien Rice as his other major influences, Luke's sound is warm, immersive and crafted in such a way which suggests an innate ability to transcend his idols and, in the vain of all great singer-songwriters, create something completely unique and compelling within the genre. Having already been tipped by the Guardian as "breathing life into a tired form" Luke is currently busy gigging around London, opening for artists such as Martha Wainwright and Kodaline.
Luke's new Old Flint EP is out today! You can get it and the Fail For You EP here on iTunes.
We are so thrilled that Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors' song "Tomorrow" will be closing out this week's episode of Criminal Minds! Watch the episode tonight at 9/8c on CBS.
"Tomorrow" is on the latest album from Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, Good Light, which you can find here on iTunes.
