bio:Based in Los Angeles, Mona Rue is the exciting project from the talented front-woman singer/songwriter/producer of BELLSAINT, Caroline Brooks. She has certainly proven herself as a powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and producer in the indie scene and is a favorite among industry music supervisors. Throughout her career, she consistently returns to her earlier influences, like Blondie and ABBA, and newer favorites like Perfume Genius and Lady Gaga.

Mona Rue (aka Caroline Brooks), was born in Tyler, Texas, and started getting solos in kindergarten school productions when she was 5. She started piano lessons at 7 and began taking classical voice lessons at age 13. As a Radio-Television-Film major at the University of Texas at Austin, she then moved to Los Angeles and started making a name for herself as an in-demand singer/songwriter/producer.

Rue’s addicting songs have been featured in various TV shows, including Netflix’s hit coming-of-age series Heartstopper, Shameless, Younger, and the American reality show Total Divas. She can be heard singing new modernized versions of songs for Hasbro’s My Little Pony (including their new viral theme song), and her collaboration (“League of Our Own”) with viral sensations UNSECRET and Sam Tinnesz has been catching steam online and earning buzz within the industry. Her holiday nostalgic tune "This Time of Year" is also featured in Hallmark's 2025 holiday movie Forced Family Christmas.

When she’s not writing or recording music, she is doing her part to inspire future generations of creatives. She volunteers as a music coach at L.A.’s Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls, and teaches songwriting as a therapeutic tool for at-risk youth at the non-profit program Awaken Arts. In addition, profits from her music were donated to the National Center for Victims of Crime, and she has donated use of her songs to She Is The Music, a non-profit program that promotes equality, inclusivity, and opportunity for young women interested in pursuing careers in music that would otherwise not have access. Her biggest obsessions include Jim Carrey and her cat June.
